Burrwood Environmental joins the scheme

8 July 2013

It is now over two years since Clarity’s Managing Director, David Adams, founded the Recycle with Clarity initiative.

With an ambition to increase recycling rates for local areas and help reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill or illegally exported, Clarity created a national network of WEEE disposal sites throughout the UK, offering free alternative recycling solutions to civic amenity sites.

Since it launched, our unique initiative has welcomed sites from all over the UK and the network continues to grow. Clarity is delighted to welcome Burrwood Environmental Services Ltd, one of the latest companies to join the scheme.

Established in 1989 by John Bassett, who remains the Managing Director today, Burrwood started with the aim of dedicating services to the small customer and their diverse requirements. The company has grown from its initial success into a secure, family run business with a broad spread of customers across many industries throughout the South East and London area. The company prides itself on its flexibility and the dedicated, friendly approach it gives to each and every customer.

Clarity’s Project Manager, Vikkie Fitzgerald, said: “I’m delighted that Burrwood has chosen to become part of our network of recycling sites. With its vast experience and years in the sector, and likeminded approach to customer service, Burrwood is the perfect partner for our initiative.”

As well as a Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (WEEE) collection service, Burrwood provides a variety of other waste management collection services that include analysis, packing and documentation of chemicals and other dangerous substances as defined by Hazardous Waste Regulations 2005, fluorescent tubes and bulbs, batteries and aerosols. Burrwood also offers a data cleansing service to erase all personal data from computer hard drives for clients handling sensitive data. Licensed by the Environment Agency, Burrwood will collect any size consignment without the use of a sub-contractor.

Sean Bassett, Operations Director at Burrwood said: “At Burrwood we offer complete customer satisfaction with all the qualities, standards and commitment you would expect from a much larger organisation. We aim to continue building our business and reputation further. Joining the Recycle with Clarity initiative allows us to develop the WEEE collection side of what we do, expanding our service to both new and existing customers.”
