Mason Metals & Halesowen Metals Press Release 22nd December 2011

These two Recycle with Clarity sites have released information on Christmas and New Year WEEE recycling. Read the full press release here.

On Christmas Day, recycling is probably the last thing on your mind. But for those of you lucky enough to receive shiny new electrical items as gifts, you’ll need to know what to do with the old ones. Recycle with Clarity sites all across the UK are ready and waiting to take your broken or unwanted electricals, completely free of charge.

Recycle with Clarity along with other UK Weee Compliance Schemes have funded a TV advert which will be screened over the festive period. It shows how Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment is first destroyed and its metallic and plastic components then recycled and made into new goods. Vikkie Fitzgerald Clarity's Project Manager said “Recycle with Clarity was delighted to be given the opportunity to part-fund this important advert. It is a perfect fit with our existing business - the recycling of household electronics, and we are sure the public will respond well to this message at Christmas time.” .

The Recycle with Clarity West Midland sites are at Mason and Halesowen Metals. With premises at Brierley Hill and Halesowen open from 9am until 4pm; friendly staff will be onhand to unload heavy items from 3/1/12 onwards. To compliment the two "drop off centres" the business also offers a free collection service for large domestic appliances such as cookers, dishwashers, washing machines and fridge freezers within their locality (call for details). This Dudley Police backed scheme has been operating successfully for over 12 months allowing the public peace of mind when looking to dispose and recycle goods properly and legally.

Mason's MD Andrew Jones said: "recycling via the Clarity scheme provides the public with the assurance that their goods won't end up in landfill or dumped on the roadside. It provides convenience and in the case of our collections a duty of care waste transfer note proving the customers commitment to the environment".
